West Cork Arts Centre’s Membership Scheme supports the work of the Arts Centre and the development of the arts in West Cork.

Why we need your support
By becoming a Member of the organisation you will be associated with excellence in exhibition, performance, education and community arts programmes, and you will be supporting the development of that work.

Each year the costs of running and programming the Arts Centre increase and while we are in receipt of public funding through the Arts Council and Cork County Council, we must also raise funds locally to meet those costs.

Membership support is vital to the development of the Arts Centre and its programme.

Benefits of Membership

These are the core benefits for WCAC Members:

• Invitations to all private views/openings at the West Cork Arts Centre.

1. Individual

• 10% discount on selected workshop programmes.
• 10% discount on purchases made at the West Cork Arts Centre Galleries.

2. Corporate Member

Core benefits plus

• Acknowledgement in our publicity and publications - full acknowledgement may be negotiated for specific projects.
• Special previews to exhibitions by arrangement and hosted by the exhibiting artist/s.
• 10% discount on purchases made at the West Cork Arts Centre Galleries.

All donations to the Centre are eligible for tax deduction under Section 32 of the Finance Act.

3. Professional / Non-professional Artist Members
(Visual artists, performance artists, writers, craftspeople)

Core benefits plus

• 10% discount on purchases made at the West Cork Arts Centre Galleries.
• 10% discount on selected workshop programmes.
• Invitations to social events such as trips to exhibitions and performances at other venues.
• Invitations to attend Professional Arts Practice and Professional Development lectures, seminars and events.

• Professional Membership for any artist who fulfils three or more of the following criteria:

To be considered a Professional Artist Member of West Cork Arts Centre, a minimum of three criteria from the list below are required:

1. Degree or Diploma from a recognised third level college.
2. One-person exhibition, in a recognised gallery or exhibition space.
3. Have performed with a professional performance company.
4. Participation in an exhibition / arts event which was selected by a jury in which professional artists or recognised curators participated, within the past three years.
5. Have performed in a public performance within the past three years.
6. Work has been purchased / commissioned by Government or other public body or professional body.
7. Have been awarded bursary, residency, or otherwise grant-aided by the Arts Council / Arts Council of Northern Ireland or other funding body.
8. Have been awarded tax-exempt status by Revenue Commissioners, or are on schedule D as a self employed artist in Northern Ireland.
