Creative Podcasting for Beginners

There are a maximum of 12 places.

In this course, participants will learn how to create their own podcast or radio production using simple equipment. Participants will be taken through the process of making a broadcast-ready podcast production over the 3 full-day/15 hour course. Course contents include: operating handheld recording equipment, Smartphone audio recording, skype and internet chat recording, voiceover and field recording, room acoustics, multi-track audio editing, podcasting and broadcasting services, project structure and project management. 

Dan Guiney is an educator and musician who lives in Clonakilty. He works as a digital facilitator on Sherkin island for the BA in visual arts course. He teaches the students audio and image editing software and has had many years of experience running workshops that teach digital tools for content creation. Michael Holly is an artist and PhD researcher in the Department of Film and Screen Media at UCC. He has exhibited nationally and internationally as a video, sound and installation artist, and teaches courses in photography, documentary media and podcasting across County Cork.
