Launch of the short film Maker : Brian Lalor by 10HandsCrafts

Followed by a gallery conversation between the artist Brian Lalor and designer and film-maker Angela Brady

The event takes place on the occasion of a major retrospective survey exhibition of the work of west Cork-based artist and writer Brian Lalor. Curated by art historian Vera Ryan and including work from the seventies to the present, this exhibition provides an opportunity to explore the breadth of Brian Lalor’s practice over almost six decades and serves as a tribute to his lifelong dedication and contribution to Ireland's cultural heritage.

The exhibition primarily showcases Lalor's prowess in printmaking while also featuring publications, drawings, ceramics, photographs, objects, artifacts and audio presentations. It is accompanied by an illustrated book, with essays by Anne Hodge, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the National Gallery of Ireland; Dr. Angela Griffith, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History of Art and Architecture, TCD; as well as an extensive interview by Vera Ryan, concluding with an afterword by the artist.


Angela Brady OBE is a prominent Irish architect, designer, and broadcaster, known for her significant contributions to the field of architecture and her advocacy for sustainable design and diversity within the profession. She served as the President of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) from 2011 to 2013 and was awarded an OBE in 2015 in recognition of her contribution to architecture and her advocacy work. She has also produced and presented numerous TV programmes and films including for the RTE series Designing Ireland.
